Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A state of panic ensued on Saturday morning as a fire broke out in the Satyagrah Express en route from Raxaul to Delhi. The incident occurred near Gurchurava Railway Gumti, close to Majholia station in Bettiah, Bihar.
Passengers inside the train raised alarms and fear intensified as smoke emanated from a coach, prompting several individuals to leap from the moving vehicle in an effort to ensure their safety. The chaos unfolded approximately 45 minutes after the train's departure from Raxaul, attributed to a brake sole catching fire due to a short circuit in the AS4 coach.
The loco pilot promptly applied emergency brakes, halting the train at a short distance and facilitating the swift evacuation of passengers. Responding to the situation, Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers and a technical team arrived on the scene, addressing the issue, and subsequently, the repaired train continued its journey to Delhi.
The ensuing panic led to passengers jumping from the moving train to ensure their safety. The loco pilot's swift response in applying emergency brakes prevented further escalation of the incident, allowing the train to come to a halt at a short distance. The entire train evacuated within minutes, creating a chaotic atmosphere. RPF officers and a technical team were quick to respond, addressing the issue and repairing the train for its onward journey to Delhi.
